I was about to throw away the wood
But then I realized that it could still become life.
This small wooden board came into my hands while I was looking for some pieces to use to light the stove. I was about to consider it a waste, something to be consumed in a few minutes in the fire.
Then, observing its shape, I felt that that wood could have a different destiny. It shouldn't have burned: it had to tell something.
So, given the Christmas period, I chose to transform it into a Nativity: a simple, intimate scene, but full of meaning. An image born from poor material, recovered almost by chance, and become a small work capable of bringing warmth, presence and spirituality.
The colors are marked, intense, full of passion. They do not seek decorative delicacy, but want to convey the strength of the event that has just taken place: birth, light, hope.
It is a painting to hang in the home, like a small silent presence, so that it can watch over those who look at it and remember the value of simple things, even those that seemed destined to be forgotten.
This painting is and will remain a unique piece, because each work is born from an unrepeatable encounter between matter, moment and inspiration. I never repeat the same work.
