What lies behind every hat?
Even within a small crowd, apparently united by the same scene, there always exists a multitude of internal worlds. Each person observes, thinks, dreams, aspires and holds within themselves a personal universe, invisible to others.
We are never just part of the crowd. We are distinct presences, separate identities, thoughts in motion. Even when we travel the same road, everyone travels with their own gaze, their own memory, their own desire.
In this painting, hats become the symbol of this diversity. Their colors tell of different characters, emotions and personalities: some appear more sunny, some more elegant, some more creative, some more eccentric. Each headdress seems to speak instead of the face, suggesting something intimate and unrepeatable.
Behind every hat there is a story. A color choice, a shape, a way of wearing it become small clues of identity. The human figure, although almost anonymous, reveals itself precisely through what it chooses to show.
The strength of the work comes from this great variety: many close individualities, different and yet part of the same whole. As in a real crowd, no one is truly the same as another, and this very difference makes the human race richer, more complex, more alive.
Each person brings with them a small piece of the world. And all these worlds, placed next to each other, make up a colourful, imperfect and wonderfully human universe.
